The Last Cruze, a new body of work by artist LaToya Ruby Frazier, centered on the workers at the General Motors plant in Lordstown, Ohio. After more than fifty years of automobile production and a commitment to manufacture the Chevrolet Cruze until 2021, the facility was recently “unallocated” by GM. During this period of great uncertainty and change, Frazier was been in Lordstown with the workers and their families, recording their stories after the media left. With this work, Frazier introduced a major new chapter in her investigations of labor, family, community, and the working class across a variety of geographic settings.

The poster reproduces one of over forty photographs included in the exhibition, Dan Adams, UAW Local 1112, Trustee, with his father and brothers, Eugene (Red) Adams, and Bill Adams with an image of UAW pickets at Lordstown in 1974, inside UAW Local 1112 Reuther Scandy Alli union hall, (24.7 years in at GM Lordstown Complex, trim shop), Lordstown, Ohio, 2019.
